Like making things?
Ever taken something apart just to see what’s inside? Built something totally random because you had an idea and just went for it? Spent way too long on a school project even though it wasn’t due for weeks because you actually wanted it to be awesome? Yeah, that’s not just a hobby. That’s manufacturing. And it’s calling your name.
There’s a whole school for that.
Picture this: you go to school and your assignment is to build a robot. Or design a part for an airplane. Or create something with your own hands. And actually get graded on it. That’s real. Technical high schools give you hands-on time with the tools, tech and projects that turn “What if I built this?” into “Wait, I actually built this!” If you love figuring out how things work, making stuff or building things with your hands, this might be the kind of school that was literally made for you.

Talking to your parents about technical high school can feel kind of awkward.
What if they have a million questions? What if it’s not what they are expecting? What if they just… don’t get it?
It’s normal to feel that way. Here are a few ways to start the conversation:
“Hey, did you know there’s a high school where kids actually build robots and design airplane parts?”
“I found something I’m kind of into. Can we look at it together?”
“Can we talk about tech high schools instead of regular high school? I think I want to check one out.”
Your parents want to see you pumped about your future, and this is a pretty great place to start.
